You have to start somewhere. It doesn't matter to me. Why shouldn't the European NATO members foot the entire bill for the defense of their own soil? It would make them think twice before buying gas and oil from Russia. Although I would argue that China is a far greater threat to Europe than Russia is. I think the threat of Russia is over exaggerated anyways. I think older people are susceptible to Russia fear propaganda because of all the soviet attack drills they grew up having.Yes, that is a point. But why start with Israel? As it happens, though, funding has been approved again. Yes, being the world's policeman/peacekeeper does carry a cost. Trump tried to change that with Nato funding, but looks like that initiative will fade again.
