You have to start somewhere. It doesn't matter to me. Why shouldn't the European NATO members foot the entire bill for the defense of their own soil? It would make them think twice before buying gas and oil from Russia. Although I would argue that China is a far greater threat to Europe than Russia is. I think the threat of Russia is over exaggerated anyways. I think older people are susceptible to Russia fear propaganda because of all the soviet attack drills they grew up having.
 
I can't disagree with you about EU. Seems the lesson of Hitler has been forgotten, too.

I remember giving a speech in 1969-70 in class about the SS-19 that cited the use of depressed, orbital warhead delivery. These depressed, fast, orbital trajectories require more energy than the usual, high, parabolic trajectories that could carry a larger warhead:
  • fast, lower, smaller thermonuclear warhead
  • slow, higher, larger thermonuclear warhead
But back then anti-ballistic missile defense systems were a 'hot' debate. Improved Patriot and similar anti-aircraft batteries have impressive performance against incoming warheads.

The US is far more at risk from internal collapse due to bad economic policy and cultural decline than any threat from China.

Maybe that is part of China's strategy and plan, too. I don't expect any direct military attacks against the US, at least not in the short term. But controlling the world economy and supplies of critical parts and materials could certainly affect the US as well. It is right now... And Taiwan is just another step in that long term plan.

China already has a ton of influence over US media. lol. Just look at how the NBA responded to the criticisms over hong kong. China doesn't have to do anything to subvert the US, we already have enough people doing that here anyways. They just have to sit back and watch.
 
Inflation, which can also lead to stagflation!!

Makes poor people poorer, and leaves middle class with less disposable income as well. Only winners are the upper income and rich elite with lots of assets incl financial. It is a way to tax the poor who don't pay an actual tax. Eventually only the rich will own assets and everyone else will be renters and at the mercy of the elite. Sort of like modern day slavery. Is that our future?

California is still growing, a slower rate, but still growing. So I guess it's not as bad as you are trying to sell.

California with all it's faults, it is unique and still in demand. California's biggest problem is not crime, but water.

If the majority becomes fed up the current law, they have the ability to change the law through the initiative process or voting out the current legislators.

I suspect a tweak to the shoplifting laws will be made due to the gang involvement.

California lost population in 2020.

We have a Nordstrom 5 min from where we live (Vancouver suburb). My wife is in there more often than I wish. And, haha, no fear of looting here.

I just find it sad what has happened to California, esp some of the places I frequented often (like San Fran). Not too keen on going to Seattle anymore either. I don't think Soros is really helping you guys down there.

But I agree you get what you vote for. Unfortunately, CA is mostly a one party state now, so you really don't get a lot of choice now. You only get to choose the best of the worst.

Not exactly wrong. Inflation and poor welfare policy generally is robbing people of their future. Have you seen the world economic forum 2030 propaganda video? Pretty nuts.
