The 2022 Mini Cooper Lineup: Visual Order Guide

I can say as an early purchaser of the SE I had far fewer options than people who ordered later. I don't know if that's true of the LCI (2022) model, but since MINI can't keep up with the orders for the SE they may be limiting options on the new model for now.

I also don't think waiting until the build options are available (if it will truly be in April) will change the delivery date much, for the same reason. There must be a lot of orders already in the queue. If you can wait a few weeks there may be less uncertainty and anxiety.

That corresponds with what others here have mentioned about an early April 2022 build tool.

I really would not go by the 2021 build tool. Those of us who have ordered here have become aware of some differences that may affect the whole set of options.

For instance, in 2021, only the Iconic Trim has a 8.8” navigation screen, but in 2022 that’s standard on all models.

There also was no option to have Piano Black exterior details, but is that is standard on Iconic and The Electric Collection.

Oh, and let me mention that: my dealer said the Electric Collection comes with light grey cloth/leatherette seats. The sense I have is that the Electric Collection is a premium over Signature +, but it is the only way to get the Island Blue color and the two-tone roof. Beautiful options that I would have taken if they could have included leather seats.

If you configure on MINI.co.uk then you can do a 360 and see the interior better. From my casual observation, it's not any different to the cloth sees on the Signature Plus trim.

I just reviewed these to confirm the things my dealer told me around the time I had to make my decisions to order my 2022. While I am quasi-hopeful that some things change, I am also pleased there was no misinformation given. If all the convoluted logic on those pages are built into the Build Tool that should debut soon, we will see that all those mandates are true. And I'll be happy with my 2022 no matter how de-chromed it is.

I'd love read the minutes of the meeting where they decided everything but the beltline would be de-chromed.

I was about to go ahead and order the Iconic level today and have actually submitted a request to the dealer. Kind of decided last night to just go with the Iconic to get Chesterfield leather:Satellite Grey seats, but reading more on forums here, not sure we can not live with a lower model with light grey seats. Selected 17 inch Propeller spoke wheels, but on Mini Product Guide the give me, they do not even show up????? So, wife and I just discussed and don't feel we should be ordering anything until they have the website working for 2021 and even then I'm not sure it will be correct.

Of course, MINI wants to sell cars--they're just not very good at it, as demonstrated by the low priority for allowing potential customers to build their MINIs online. However, a MINI salesperson can get the information you want. When orders are submitted, they will be rejected if they don't conform to what MINI will allow. So if you want to get into the queue before the Build-Your-MINI web page is finally up, make your list of desired options and get a salesperson to verify which ones are allowed.

I have a 2021 Iconic with the Satellite Grey seats and think they're great. My late dealer (my SE was the last car they sold before going out of business in August) was nice--they told me they treated the seats so new jeans wouldn't transfer any blue to them. I don't know if that treatment was necessary, but there is no blue tainting the grey seats, so the end result was good. MINI has made the wheel selection for the SE quite limited, sorry to say.

Thanks, insightman. Hate that I can not edit my post. Of course, I meant 2022 working website and other typos. I have a bad habit of reviewing after my post.
Saw on Google docs spreadsheet, you are in Michigan. Wife and I are both from Michigan (Kalamazoo and Muskegon) and will be back to Holland in July for a granddaughter softball tournament. Been in Colorado since 1969.

Anyhow, back to Mini selection. So very confusing. Looking at the build-a-mini page, of the upgrades listed, the only one I definitly want is what they call parking assist. But from researching, that includes what they call Active Cruise Control, and I know it as Adaptive CC.

Oh no, I had written a whole lot of info I figured out by researching the Product guide and crossing out all the items that were included in lower level models.
Went to post it it required sign in and that wiped out all the info I had added. Too late to retype, so will redo it tomorrow.

With the 2021/22 MINI Cooper SE, the only way to get Parking Assist was to choose the Iconic Trim. Parking Assist requires front parking sensors not present in the Signature and Signature Plus trim levels. I've tried Parking Assist just once and what my Motoring Advisor told me was true: It's terrifying! However, I greatly appreciate the front parking sensors when pulling up to a curb or parking block. I'm an avid supporter of all the features the Iconic trim level offers, but I can understand budgetary reasons for selecting the other trim levels.

I am amazed that MINI decided to make the Electric Collection SE available in only Signature Plus trim. Of course, adding the Electric Collection surcharge on top of the Iconic price would make for a very expensive MINI. At the very least the Island Blue Metallic paint and Rooftop Grey paint should be available with the top trim level.

I added parking assist and active cruise control on my signature trim...
 
As Neorobo said, ACC and parking assist is available as an upgrade available on Sig or Sig+ for $750 (ZDP-Driver Assistance Package). I found this by researching the Product guide. So anyhow, what I wrote up last night and will now repeat here.

By crossing off all the things they list in each level that are included in lower levels, I have determined the following:

Iconic package - ZHI adds:
1. Wheels, 1NW 17" Scissor Spoke 2-tone, 1QE - MINI Electric Power spoke 2-tone, 2B0 - 17" Tentacle Spoke Silver Wheelsm 2ET - 17" Rail Spoke 2-tone
2. 302 Alarm system (available as upgrade in Sig and Sig+
3. 4E7 Interior Surface MINI Electric and 2PB Interior Surface Plano Black
4. ZDP - Driver assistance Package, 541 Active Cruise Control and 5DP Parking Assistant
5. NYGK Chesterfield Lth Satellite Grey and TYE1 Mini Yours Leather Lounge Carbon Black
6. 7GK Package Touchscreen Navigation Plus which consists of:
a. 6AD Head-Up display
b. 6AN Concierge Services.
c. 6NT MINI Connected XL
d. 6NW Wireless Charging

So, since I showed my wife comments on insideevs forums, she is willing to back off from needing the Chesterfield LTH Satellite Grey seats.
I can save $2,250 by going from Iconic to Sig+ with Driver Assistance Package ($3000 difference less the $750 DA Package) Nothing there I really care for. Found the Head-Up display annoying on test drive and shut it off.

Current status of dealing with Dealership - Received response from salesman on my request for an Iconic SE about an hour ago. Not happy!!! After test drive last Friday, salesman said there was an $1000 incentive that would be deducted. I didn't think so, yesterday after checking website, thought it was only for other models. Well that is true.
Order Entry Comfort Dealer Enquiry I received had no $1000 incentive, plus $600 D&H that had not been mentioned. And as I expected, no propeller wheels (probably only 2021 model) switched to Scissor Spoke. Quickly responded with "no way' - cancel that order. Will see what response is.

Will do more research on here, but is everyone paying full MSRP on the MINI Cooper SE? I'm more used to attempting to get the best deal.

Sure appreciate advice from all you experts.
