Those of us who use Apple products are familiar with seeing the products we bought being offered for a lower price in the future. This priced reduction gives new Tesla buyers the purchase advantage of the now expired, Federal tax credit, $3,750. But early buyers had the use of the advantages long before the new buyers.

Our 2019 Model 3 ($3,750 tax credit,) 23,685 miles ago cost ~$651 in electric charges. We traded in a 54 MPG Prius Prime which would have burned ~438 gallons of gas, ~$985, and oil changes. Even today, our Model 3 silently scoots across intersections first and reaches the speed limit about 200 yards ahead of the traffic.

Counter to the claims of Ed Niedermeyer and 'Montana Skeptic', AutoPilot is now standard and Full Self Driving includes reading STOP signs and traffic lights. My 2019 Model 3 is a better car than the day I drove it off the lot.

How long will the price drop stay? Hopefully it will be permanent. It would really be a game changer if they could bring the price down to 30k for the base model 3.
