Hydrogen has famously been called fool cells as it applies to fuel cells. Now there is this idea that there is a glut of cheap (because natural gas is actually super expensive and permanently stranded) and he notion that now mid west states are now going use that energy to convert it into hydrogen for use in cars and storage. This makes no sense! Do we they would be using legitimate waste water sources for this? Of course no it is very likely being combined with a water privatization scam. So they they would be using aquifer sources and for an incredibly inefficient process and adding to humidity. Much better just to store that energy in lithium or sell it on the grid. It really needs to be used to lower local rate payers rates. They are trying to export there green gains to keep local costs high to keep he NG scam going.
The also likely want to recover he sunk costs of the liquid transport network and infrastructure related to fossil fuels but its crucial that they not be able to do this to hasten the collapse of fossil fuels and as a skin in the game corrective for their bad investments in fossil fuels. Sure some of this was old that's still being paid off but really anything after 1950 should be be fair game.
