I'm sure that it means that Hyundai/Kia need to pay EA for their cars to be charged the correct tier while Chevy pays zero to charge at that Tier at slightly slower speeds.

A Chevy Bolt probably averages throughout a charging session about 5 to 10 kwh less than a Kona and they are in the lower pricing Tier. Now, Chevy has to pay a big fat zero for their cars to be charged the lower rate and Hyundai and Kia have to pay? This is not a very ethical business practice. Sure, if every manifacturer has to pay to get a certain price, that's fine but charging some brands a fee to charge at the same cost as other brands is not ethical. Going with a Tesla seems to be the only way to escape those unethical pricing games.

I agree and can't visualize Hyundai as a global corporation subsidizing one charge network in favor of an other . Pandora's box.
