So the verdict is no original Google Map inside the head unit? I wish it works so I don't have to plug and unplug my phone when I drive.
I was wondering if a (slightly) older phone could be wired in through USB and running Android auto, but connect to the internet using a wifi connection to my current 4G cell phone (which can broadcast a wifi hotspot). This way, I could run Waze, PocketCasts, etc. without having to get my phone out and physically plug it in each time. But I'd probably have to turn on the second phone each time, which would only be slightly less trouble. Or I could just wait it out until they allow non-Pixel phones to connect to AA via wifi...
Wireless Android Auto requires both phone and head unit support. I don't think an old 4.x android in the head unit won't be able to handle that.
I am wondering if it would be possible to change Honda Clarity HU with a unit that supports Android Automotive not Android Auto?
I have been dreaming with that for years, or at least with a tablet with better processor, better resolution and more memory. Dreaming doesn't cost anything...
