The base preferred model in Canada only comes with the rear parking sensors, which are not that useful when you have a rear camera.

It would be much more useful to me to have the front ones ...

Is there any way to add them to the vehicle, or is the wiring harness different? What about the computer inputs, where do these sensors connect (ECU?) and is this part also different between the different trims?

  3. Appreciate this is just experienced conjecture on my part but the wiring harness is likely exactly the same between the 2 models, likely the inputs for the front sensors are just capped off. Its hard to say if the BCM/ECU software would acknowledged newly imputed sensors. You would also need a new front bumper or the very least drill out you old one for the new sensors and find a way to keep to keep them in place. Sounds like an interesting project that in the very least would requires someone to take off their current bumper, find the unused inputs on the harness and trying at least one sensor to see if you get any joy.
