There are many posts on this forum complaining that Honda did not do enough to advertise the Clarity so that no one has heard of it. Now that it is barely available, . . I got this email today sent of course to an already Clarity owner with a car that is not even a year old. http://links.honda.mkt015.com/servlet/MailView?ms=MjkwMzE3NDMS1&r=MjY2MTg3MzMwMzkzS0&j=MTU0MzYwNDIzNwS2&mt=1&rt=0
I, too, received that email today. Honda can't tell from my email address that I don't live in California so they don't realize I might be someone who is sorely peeved that my dealer now has to special-order Clarity PHEVs.
Got the same email yesterday. Pretty lame to advertise a vehicle that isn't available over much of the country.
Maybe (hopefully?) Honda is attempting to build nationwide interest in the Clarity prior to resuming wider distribution of the 2020’s?
Just for laughs, I tried the dealer locator in that email and 3 dealers came up for my area, but when I pressed "Find" under the Clarity picture, instead of showing how many were in stock, etc, it said I should talk with a dealer for more information. So much for anyone wishing a test drive. Terry
I thought the same thing until I realized it was just email, which they don't know the geographic area, and of course it's free. And anyway even for 2019 according to Honda "dealers in all 50 states can still order a Clarity PHEV and customers across the nation are still able to purchase or lease the model." But there is always hope that this isn't just routine check-off-the-box marketing (i.e. marketing people always have to look like they are doing something) and that it actually signifies something.
The car is huge. I can't reach the glove compartment from the driver's seat. It all depends on what you are used to.
