36 DC charging stations from B/C to Ontario to start, (partial funding from Natural Resources Canada). Ontario - 17 stations (35 chargers) BC - 11 stations ( 23 chargers) Alberta - 4 stations ( 9 chargers) Manitoba - 2 stations (5 chargers) Saskatchewan - 2 stations ( 4 chargers) Source: https://driveteslacanada.ca/news/shell-canada-ev-charging-network-from-british-columbia-to-ontario-revealed-by-natural-resources-canada/
The funding was $3.95 million to pay for up to half of the cost of installing 76 chargers at 36 stations. So at an average of at least $105,000 per plug I sincerely hope these are L3
I sincerely hope so too but never underestimate the ability of middle men to suck up the gravy. Also, with EVs very quickly raising their ability to suck down electrons I hope the power of these stations is also forward-looking.
There's a limit to the amount they'll subsidize based on how fast the charger is, if they're getting $50k/plug in subsidy then they're between 50-99kW per plug. The program details are here.
I believe that this is the former "GREENLOTS" which is owned by SHELL.. I got a message on my greenlots app that GREENLOTS is becoming "SHELL". Not a surprise as SHELL acquired Greenlots a while ago..
