Went on Thursday, sat in the back of the Kia E Nero and was surprised at the lack of foot room. Maybe the front seat was at its lowest but I couldn’t get my feet under the front seat. I thought the back seat in the E Nero was supposed to be more spacious than the Kona but I found it uncomfortable. Lexus and Toyota were busy pushing their self charging hybrids, had to laugh.
I have just put a deposit on a Preferred trim Kona EV (I got both the BC and Federal incentives), and the dealer here in BC told me the wait is 8 - 10 weeks. He seemed confident of that estimate. I am *really* skeptical. Does anyone know anything about wait times for the Kona EV Preferred?
Rumours have been May/June since rumours started. Take that for what it's worth. P.S. I really miss this thread!
That's not bad at all!!! Hope it happens; do keep us informed! Oh, and I presume it was MSRP, no markups, no discounts?
The only thing any of the EV dealers are willing to negotiate on is the trade in value of your old car. And that starts at dismal and inches up to meh. But I figure we've got until October to get our order in for a new EV; the federal incentive won't survive the election.
Did you know that we have a self-charging fully electric vehicle? If anyone ever mentions self charging hybrid, that's what I'll call my Kona! (Full disclosure: Robert from fully charged came up with that idea and I love it!) Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
Thought I'd dig deep into the archive and bring this original thread back to life on the 1st anniversary of picking up my Kona EV Ultimate. The back and forth on the thread kept me going for the months long wait and the crazy ups and downs provided by the ineptitude of Hyundai Canada. It's been a good year (actually only 11 months of driving as it was in the shop for a month). I still love the car and hope for many years of rewarding driving to come. My hope is that I can drive this car into the ground and my next EV will be half the price, 50% more range and, God willing, bought straight off the lot with a proper test drive and no pre-order!
Same here. I got my car on the 28th February last year. Love the car but missing that 5000$ from the federal was a big hit. We will see how it goes but I don't see car prices going down too fast since manufacturers are holding the market ( they still want you get service every 10000 km)
Haha, I'm in the US but got mine on 28th a year ago as well. Luckily I still get the full $7500 Federal rebate. Looking forward to that!
Which is so weird! Hyundai has quite a few ice cars out there that have a 3 year/30.000 km oil change/maintenance cycle!
My tax papers are all at my accountant.. He is doing both, my personal and my business returns, so it may take a couple of days until he is ready to file it.. I should have sufficient write offs not to pay a single cent of income taxes for last year which would be the first time ever.. BIG refund coming..
Funny thing... 28 seems to be a popular day of the month to get a Kona.. Got mine 6/28/2019... 22400 miles to date..
