I found that the film went on quite nice and I guess with a squeegee it makes getting the air bubbles out easier .But if you do it yourself don't skimp of squirting the soap solution .I also did the entry points around the front doors and the back doors. I am sorry for the pictures but it went on so well that it's hard to photograph.
I carry an cloth drop sheet (pre folded) in the back for just such an occasion, easy to droop over the bumper area.
So with the 78 degrees in the shade today I decided to install the visors: The last picture showing the molded part in the front (fits perfect) The third picture shows where my old electrical house meter was (grey box) before I changed the service to 200A and relocated it. I now have hinged cover in its place to allow for the J1772 cable from my inside L2 evse through a 4" insulated hole beneath it. The install should have been easy but I had to tweek the passenger rear to conform with the 2mm differential between rear visor and rear door window (which Hyundai informed me was too small a difference for warranty issues) Definitely worth the money, will be so nice to leave the windows open a bit now and should make a huge difference in the winter for defogging windshield
I was holding off on these until the warmer weather to see if the rain dripped inside without them ( a constant problem on my previous cars). It got warm enough to open the windows for the first time this week. MAN! These are the noisiest, most buffetty windows I've ever had. I tried every combination of front back and sides. Terrible. Everyone talking about the joys of driving with the windows down must have them all the way down because otherwise their ears would bleed!
I had them on both my Leafs and with the back windows open (about an inch) the sound and buffeting disappears, hopefully that's the case with Kona
How long did shipping take? Does the 3m tape, make it feel secure? Ive only used in channel type ones by weathertech. I always get these window deflectors as the rain always pours in.
Shipping from Korea free $85 Cdn came 5 days after Amazon order 3M tape is thin but secure , just like when I ordered from Wellvisors for the Leaf. I changed the tape to 3M indoor outdoor 10 lb when moving the visors from 2013 to 2016 when I upgraded to 30kWh. Held well over 3 years. Only drawback there is a 3.5" vertical gap(about 1/4" wide) between the weather stripping and window at the rear of the back windows due to Hyundai design, I will improvise a gasket later (only could be a potential water leak when it rains sideways). I doubt the Weatherteck ones will be any better.
LOL you know it's only a matter of time before someone figures out how to edit the audio file. I assume that's essentially all it is - an audio file that is played through a speaker. Imagine playing the ice cream truck sound while driving below 40?
I am considering the eBay or Amazon ones myself. Love to see some pics of these installed on your ride
These look very nice. Are they from the Amazon vendor? Still waiting to see what the Weathertek channel mount units look like but according to my dealer the factory ones are also the tape on variety.

I wonder if I could get my dealer to spray undercoat in the wheel wells to reduce road noise. It wasn't even offered when I bought the car, and maybe it is not recommended. Can anyone tell me?
Knowing what the dealer charge per hour anybody else could do as nice a job for half the cost. I don't know what type of material the wheel wells are made of but if it's aluminum it wouldn't hurt it and if it's steel it should be done. The only thing I don't know is the areodynamic factor of it.
I was told by the dealer if undercoat is sprayed on the underside, the batteries would not properly cool and void the warranty. Better confirm before spraying...
Ooh that would definitely be a bad idea, but he's thinking spraying it into the wheel wells. I personally don't see an issue with that doesn't mean anything since I have no clue about these things. Sent from my moto x4 using Tapatalk
