Here’s a new article from Car and Driver on Honda’s plan to build more hybrids and EVs in the US. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a27206772/honda-ohio-plant-adds-hybrids-evs/ Most noteworthy is that it has a link to another Car and Driver article on the Clarity. I can’t remember if it’s been shared before. https://www.caranddriver.com/honda/clarity That last article has a nice 30 second Honda commercial. It has a lot of opinions and not that many facts. At least it has a lot of links. I’ll let y’all decide it’s validity. At least it has the Honda commercial.
Both articles are interesting. I did not realize that Honda has an enviable record in terms of employee layoffs; I hope they can maintain that. And the big factor missing from the second article was the $7500 US income tax credit, which rather upsets the assertion that the Accord is cheaper than the Clarity. I wonder, if Honda moves forward with building more EVs in Ohio, if they will feel the need to try to actually market the Clarity.
An error: At 12.7:1, the electrically assisted steering rack’s ratio is slightly quicker than the Accord’s 11.8:1. 11.8 is quicker than 12.7. They goofed up -- backwards. Sent from my SM-N960U using Inside EVs mobile app
I don't want a CR-V hybrid or an HR-V BEV. I want the Europe/Japan-only Honda e BEV that Honda won't give us because the US supposedly won't buy anything but SUVs. It's a work of art (so I added a picture frame). Time to write more letters to American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
