After a bit of a delay due to having to call customer service to activate the VIN, I can report that I am happily heating, defrosting, and receiving battery status via the Android app. It's worth noting that the savage reviews in the Play Store are for a previous version; the current one was released on Feb. 5 and so far is working fine for me.

That is good news Pete! I got mine registered online with them this morning too as our car had been assigned to someone else before us.

It's not just you, seems everyone has had to call Customer Service. Apparently they want you to wait to get an e-mail from BlueLink before you register and set it up, once you complete the sale and the dealer sends all the information, not once you have a VIN. I got my e-mail while I was at the dealership, however it wouldn't register. Called Customer Service and they took my info down and told me they would have it fixed in a couple days. Apparently there are issues with the server connections, and all the information isn't properly entered. Well the next day I got another e-mail and I was good to register. Oh, and they prefer you registering on your computer, not sure why.

Anybody that has Bluelink up and running, how do you remote start the vehicle? I can't seem to find it!!! Here is what my BlueLink screen looks like:

I am wondering the same! I have the same screen. Also I just started the horn remotely and could not turn it off. Same with lights. I need help. I have been googling for BlueLink remote instructions and honestly have had no luck so far.

Lol, the horn and lights are so you can find your vehicle in a parkade or scare people. In order to turn it off you have to unlock your doors on your keyfob, I know that part works as I did the same thing! If you feel like playing around, see if unlocking on BlueLink will turn it off too.

In for a penny and in for a pound lol. I just pushed the remote for horn and then used the unlock on remote to turn it off. A little slower than using your fob as you have to press unlock, enter code and wait for the little spinning wheel to go through processing. That works just fine. Thanks. I had barking dogs throughout though as my two were startled by the horn.

My husband has the answer for remote starting. i.e. He says you do not need to remotely start the vehicle because it doesn't need to warm up a motor to get heat. So you would press "climate" to heat up your car. I think I have read that people before exiting on coming home crank up the heat and leave steering wheel and rear defrost turned on as then it heats rapidly. Not positive about the rear defrost and steering wheel, but for sure have read they crank up the heat so it will heat rapidly. What else do you want to try? lol

Just saw that under "climate", you can do a custom heat level, heated steering wheel, side and back defroster toggle on and set that as a favourite.

I think I thought we needed remote start as I watched US Bluelink videos and they use that term as they don't have a heat pump like we do.

Yeah waiting for that spinning wheel is not fun, I wish it was more instantaneous!
That makes sense, so if I turn Climate ON, then it would basically be the same thing as starting a vehicle. All the images online with buttons that show start and stop must be for ICE vehicles.
hmmmmm, when I think of something else to try I will let you know!!

Yes, just choose Climate on. And it doesn't take long to heat the vehicle, either. I turned it on about 10 minutes before leaving work yesterday, it was -7 out, and the car was quite comfortable when I got in.

Other than it taking a while to connect to the car it's a pretty awesome feature! Especially with this cold weather.

It took two weeks plus for me to finally get it to work, and three days after I was registered to get the remote functions to work. Yeah, the horn has to be turned off by unlocking car! I have my climate control set to heat to 20.5, heat steering wheel, and front defrost on. It works great!. I tried stopping and starting the charge function too, and it worked well. I noticed that if my wifi connection is a little shaky, it takes time spinning the little wheel, but it it is a strong signal, it works quite quickly, and the function actually happens well before the spinning wheel has finished. I tested this by standing next to car while testing remote functions. It would lock or unlock, etc., about 10 seconds before the apps spinning wheel was done, so it doesn't take too long to actually work.

Is anyone experiencing an issue where you can't save your climate setting correctly?
As an example, here in Ontario, the temps have plummeted. On the first full day of ownership a couple of weeks back, I set my climate to 22.5 degrees, with front and rear windows defrosting and heated steering wheel on. It then asks if you want to save it. I clicked "yes" but for some reason, it doesn't save my settings. It generically "saves" 17.5 degrees, and no defrost or heated steering wheel. I've tried several different versions, naming them each differently, it asks me if I want to overwrite my previous saved settings and they're ALL 17.5 degrees with no defrost or steering wheel. No matter the settings/combinations I actually want to save.

Wondering if It's a bug with the app or just something with mine?

In Android, I was able to save settings to a named file and then reload that file as a Favorite. I checked the climate settings and it showed the correct toggles (but not the target temperature) . If you choose Custom then of course it defaults to the settings you mention.

Yes, it saves mine as a favourite, but I didn't have to reload any file. Also using Android (Pixel 2 XL).

I meant reloading the favourite. Of course these days it would not necessarily be a file.

We aren't having any trouble with our Blue Link app for remote scheduling. We go to schedule, submit command, enter PIN, hit scheduled climate and enter temperature and front defrost and heated steering wheel with heated steering and defrosters, and then select apply, then select day and departure time, apply, then submit command, enter our PIN again and then processing occurs and it says charging options have been set and we have to press ok.

I find the whole thing tedious but my husband doesn't mind. I prefer to just go to climate a few minutes before I leave the house and select the custom set up that I filled out and press it and enter my PIN, and the car is warm within 5 minutes or so. The actually scheduling set up suits hubby's OCD traits. Most pilots are extremely OCD. Thank goodness. lol

Did anyone else notice the 50 pages of agreement you have to accept before being ALLOWED to use Bluelink. It is complete BS for consumers to be faced with legal documents like the Bluelink agreement. Something needs to change to protect consumers privacy.

I am getting the exact same behavior on iOS as well.

I haven't used my car or BlueLink since the 10th, so when I went to use it to get my vehicle status today it wouldn't connect. I couldn't unlock or lock. I thought I would try starting it manually to see if that worked. I went in and started the vehicle, and BlueLink was up and running fine after that! Just a note to any of you, maybe don't wait more than 3-4 days to use BlueLink.

Still can't use the climate feature. Called Monday morning and received a claim number. Called again today and was told they are still working on the problem.

Ours was working fine and now it isn't. Maybe we better call it in to add a little ammunition to the issue.
