Deloitte took delivery of 140 new MINI Cooper SEs, adding to the 100 they already have. It sure seems like MINI found the sweet spot between price and range for their first BEV.
Black MINI’s Matter !!! But, WOW, hope the company also has an on-site car wash. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
I love all the long aerials sticking up in that photo. And the color green for the mirror caps is non-standard but great.
That makes so much more sense than the yellow. I never understood the yellow accents for a ‘green’ car. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
The Energetic Yellow accents are for yahoos like me, the SE owner who wants to broadcast that this is no ordinary MINI Cooper. Yellow works with a much broader spectrum of body paint options than green would. And what shade of green would it be? BRG wouldn't get the job done and lighter shades of green often don't turn out well. When I purchased my 2000 Honda Insight (serial #221), what Honda called "Citrus Yellow Metallic," was too green for me so I chose silver for my Insight, counting on its unique shape and full fender skirts to call attention to its unique status as the only hybrid car you could drive. Honda discontinued that color the next year, making the Citrus Yellow Insights the rarest of this rare car (only about 14,000 Insights of all colors were manufactured over 7 years).
I saw one this Summer, causing me to again think how bold the owners of those Insights were and are. I know from this forum there are MINI Cooper SE owners who believe MINI strayed too far with the Energetic Yellow accents on the SE. Some of them spent nearly as much to eliminate the yellow and the SE's aero grille as I spent to eliminate my SE's skeuomorphic fake hood scoop.
