Will, I think I can answer my own question. Only ones getting any discount are those that can wage a dealer against another. I do have two here near me. One I'm dealing with 25 miles and another 36 miles the opposite direction. So may be able to attempt to pit them against each other. We shall see.
Correct. You have to be in a big area with several dealers. Even then, when a car is not in stock, the dealer seems less inclined to discount, as well.
It seems a dealer would be more inclined to discount on the guaranteed sale of a car that would spend no time on the dealer lot. That said, I ordered my SE a year before I received it (7 months before a few were delivered prior to the factory's pandemic shut-down), so I had no leverage whatsoever. I removed my stats from the delivery spreadsheet because they were skewing the numbers. Despite the long wait (or because of it?), I doubt there are any SE owners happier than me (after removing the hood scoop, of course).
I love the HUD. I hardly ever look down at the instrument panel. The speed limit and my current speed--that's all I need to see.
That wouldn't work on the twisty country roads I am lucky to travel. Constant speed is not what a MINI is for, anyway.
The speed warning is my friend. I've likely mentioned I am rather petite (5' tall) and I thought I wanted the HUD until I tried it. Even adjusting, we couldn't get it at a right height so I could easily see it. My dash is better. If they made a real HUD then I'd likely have reconsidered.
Oh, I hate this!!! Sent in a request for a SIG+ with the following: "But following are changes we would like made to that order since the website does not allow us to select some items. 1. Add Package ZDP Driver Assistance Package ($750) 2. Wheels - replace with 2ED 17" Roulette Spoke two-Tone 3. Interior - Leatherette Cloth replace with Nee1 Leather Cross Punch Carbon Black 4. Need front plate holder - did not see code for that, but read it is standard in any state that requires a front plate." Received back quote with none of the above, replied and received corrected quote with $500 extra for the NEE1 Leather Cross Punch Carbon Black seats even though the Product guide shows they come with the SIG+. They were able to quote $750 for the ZDP Driver Assistance Package. Questioned the salesman and now he wants to know what product guide. If the $500 stands, may be back to an Iconic package. Anxiously waiting for a quote from second dealer Not real encouraging. Follow up, salesman confirmed $500 stands.
The Leather Cross Punch Carbon Black seats are a $500 option on the Sig+. We have a Sig+ on the way with them. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
Hi Bmartinez028. I was hoping to save a little by not going to the Iconic package. ($3000 difference less the $750 for ACC +PA =$2250) So now wondering if not better to just spend the extra $1750 and get Iconic. Did you not add the $750 Driver Assistance Package? If you don't mind, reason for not going Ionic? Thanks, DeWayne
We did not know of the Driver Assistance package when we ordered in early February so ours will not have. Anyways we would not use either of those features. Basically we wanted the HK sound and Panoramic roof of the Sig+ but did not want the grey cloth seats that it comes with so we optioned for the leather. That and an alarm were the only two extras. MSRP w/dest came to $35750 Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
I updated the production time and trim stats thread today, and was surprised logging about six signature plus orders plus one electric collection for the 2022s. I think those currently outnumber the iconic trim orders on the 2022 model year.
Perhaps the Iconic's Head-Up Display and satellite radio should be the deciding factors. Some don't like the HUD--and it is possible to keep it stowed, but I love it. If you won't use it or the SiriusXM radio, and you get leather seats on a Sig+, perhaps the Iconic doesn't make sense.
All the more reason it makes zero sense that you could not add leather seats to the Electric Collection. I mean, why not collect the premium for the special color and also collect MORE money for leather seats? They would make so much more than on the Iconic....
Satellite radio w/1 year Sirius subscription came standard on our Sig+. Or at least that’s what the inquiry report says. Sent from my iPhone using Inside EVs
List of Iconic Features from my build report, from earlier in this same thread, which presumably are Iconic Only or cost extra if you add them to Sig+: 2XD Nappa Leather Steering Wheel 302 Alarm System 313 Power Folding Mirrors 319 Roof in body color 3L2 Piano Black Exterior Trim (not available on Sig+) 402 Panoramic moonroof 431 Auto-dimming rearview mirror 4AA Headliner in Anthracite 541 Active Cruise Control 5DP Parking Assistant 674 harmon/kardon Premium Sound System The steering wheel and premium sound system may be the main things of interest. Could also be the tech (Active Cruise Control, Parking Assistant). There may be some added stuff in the "Touchscreen Navigation Plus" package that comes with it too, besides the HUD.
Don't think that's correct. Not sure what the new steering wheels are called, but mine is leather. Panoramic moon roof, auto dimming mirrors, HK sound, power mirrors and roof in body color were all standard options. I don't think any of that has changed for 2022. This is where I went. As I said the HUD didn't work well for shorty me, charging station didn't fit my phone, no need for XM since I've been streaming in my car other ways (it is satellite ready if I changed my mind) but added the cross punch black leather. It was much cheaper to add the leather for me (didn't want the light leather anyway). I might have liked the front sensors but not for $3k more. We are assuming it wasn't based on 2021. Only Iconic got it. Let us know if that changed for 2022[/QUOTE]
